The Ospreys and Dragons player ratings as Wales outcast steals show at the Liberty

The Ospreys remain in the hunt to qualify automatically for next season’s Champions Cup and the Guinness PRO14 title play-offs by beating the Dragons 29-20 at Swansea’s Liberty Stadium.

There were some good rugby from the men in black with the score not being a true reflection of their dominance.

So how did each player rate? Here’s our verdict....

DAN EVANS 9/10 JORDAN WILLIAMS 5/10

Former Dragons full-back Evans capitalised on the superior back play of the Ospreys by bagging four memorable touchdowns to move to second in the all-time try-scoring list for the Ospreys and out-shine his opposite number.

HANNO DIRKSEN 5 HALLAM AMOS 6

Dirksen made a limited impact but Six Nations Grand Slam medallist Amos scored a fine opportunist try after chasing his chip to intercept Owen Watkins’ blind pass.

CORY ALLEN 7 TYLER MORGAN 5

Allen produced some decent touches in the centre but there was more woe for Wales’ 2015 World Cup quarter-finalist Morgan when he suffered yet another injury, this time damaging his right shoulder.

Bradley Davies of Ospreys helps an injured Tavis Knoyle of Dragons

OWEN WATKIN 6 JARRYD SAGE 5

Watkin will be haunted by his careless pass which was picked off by Amos but, generally, the Ospreys were able to prosper against a Dragons defence that was often at sixes and sevens.

KEELAN GILES 7 JARED ROSSER 5

Former Wales Under-20 finisher Giles gave Rosser and the Dragons problems with his tricky running to show he’s on the way back to his best.

LUKE PRICE 5 JASON TOVEY 6

Outside-half Tovey moved past the 1,000 point mark as he increased his record total for the Dragons to 1,007 with two conversions and two penalties to overshadow Price.

ALED DAVIES 5 RHODRI WILLIAMS 7

Dragons' scrum-half sniper Williams made an impressive first-half contribution that included a 95m sprint for a try after intercepting a Davies pass.

NICKY SMITH 8 LEON BROWN 4

Smith gave his Wales colleague a torrid time at the scrum and scurried around looking for work in the loose to be a major influence.

SCOTT BALDWIN 7 RICHARD HIBBARD 5

Harlequins-bound Baldwin marked his final home appearance by winning the duel of the vastly experienced Wales hookers as the Ospreys scrum dominated.

TOM BOTHA 7 BROK HARRIS 4

Prop Botha eventually limped off after having been in a pack which held the upper hand as he put one over his fellow South African at the shoving contest.

ADAM BEARD 7 MAX WILLIAMS 4

Beard has had the most memorable week of his career after picking up a Grand Slam and was a thorn in the side of fellow youngster Williams and the Dragons.

BRADLEY DAVIES 7 MATTHEW SCREECH 5

Bruiser Brad gave the Wales management a reminder he’s still got some life in the legs as he charged around the pitch like a teenager to silence Screech.

OLLY CRACKNELL 6 AARON WAINWRIGHT 6

This was an intriguing match-up with Cracknell piling into a blindside flanker rival who has made such an impression on the international and regional stage.

JUSTIN TIPURIC 8 TAINE BASHAM 6

Tipuric is just a non-stop rugby machine and could be man of the match virtually every game. He rarely put a foot wrong to give promising Wales Under-20 star Basham a valuable lesson.

JAMES KING 6 ROSS MORIARTY 6

Wales star Moriarty did some damage for the Dragons but it was in fits and starts while King was a target for the Ospreys with his expertise at the lineout.
