The Original Factory Shop in Staple Hill closing down

A much-used discount store in Staple Hill will be closing down in less than three weeks. The Original Factory Shop on Broad Street will be shutting its South Gloucestershire branch next month.

The shop will close on July 15, with rumours on social media the building will be turned into a gym. Selling clothes, shoes, home and garden items as well as Christmas decorations, the shop's closure will be a big loss to Staple Hill and the high street.

Customers on Facebook have expressed their sadness at the move and what it will mean for Staple Hill, which has seen several shops close in the past few years.

A TOFS spokesperson: “As the landlord is looking to redevelop this site, it means that unfortunately we have had to exit the lease at our Staple Hill store. We are seeking to redeploy colleagues that have been affected wherever possible. Our next nearest branch is in Nailsea.”

As the store sells discounted items there will not be a closing down sale.
