The original 22 episodes of 1990's 'The Flash' are streaming on CW Seed

Aug. 04--Good news for those who feel like the days are dragging until the season premiere of "The Flash" -- you can now watch all episodes of the 1990-91 series through the CW's streaming site.

Current "Flash" fans will recognize star John Wesley Shipp as Henry Allen, Barry's father who was wrongfully convicted for his mother's murder.

In the 1990 series, Shipp played Barry Allen, a forensic scientist who is transformed into the titular speedster following a lightning accident at his lab that caused his electrified body to be flung into chemicals that altered his physiology.

The series premiered on Sept 20, 1990 on CBS, with the final episode airing on May 18, 1991.

While the current CW series and the earlier "Flash" are not directly related, the newer show often pays tribute to the '90s incarnation.

In addition to Shipp playing Barry's father, other actors from the older series have made appearances on the new show.

Amanda Pays, who played S.T.A.R. labs scientist and Barry's main ally, Dr. Tina McGee, in the earlier "Flash," has appeared a couple times in the new series as the same character. Similarly Vito D'Ambrosio, who had a recurring role as Central City Police Department's Officer Tony Bellow in the '90s series, has appeared as Mayor Bellows in the current series.

And of course there is Mark Hamill, who has played the villain Trickster in both "Flash" series.

Check out the full series on CW Seed. The current version of "The Flash" is set to return on Oct. 6.
