The Open hole-in-one joy for Emiliano Grillo at Royal Portrush

There was a hole-in-one on the opening day of The Open Championship on Thursday morning.

Argentinian Emiliano Grillo made 13 his lucky number as he aced the 194-yard par-three 13th.

It is the first Open Championship hole-in-one for three years.

Grillo drilled a 9-iron off the tee and the ball landed on the green before rolling in to the cup to huge cheers from the crowd on the first day at Royal Portrush.

Playing partners Sung Kang and Thomas Thurloway and their caddies were first to congratulate Grillo, who collected his ball before launching it into the crowd.

Here's the shot:

Louis Oosthuizen was the last golfer to achieve the feat at Royal Troon in 2016.
