The Open 2026: Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler’s tee times for first round at Royal Birkdale

  • The first round of the 154th Open Championship got underway on Thursday morning at Royal Birkdale.
  • World No 1 Scottie Scheffler is defending the title he won for the first time last year and he will get his opening round underway at 9:58am BST, alongside Tyrrell Hatton and Bryson DeChambeau.
  • Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy will also be aiming for his second Claret Jug, 12 years on from winning his first.
  • The Northern Irishman has a late tee off time on Thursday, as he is due to begin at 3:15pm, having been placed in a group with Xander Schauffele and Matt Fitzpatrick.
  • Tommy Fleetwood will be competing on home soil, and he will tee off at 10:09am alongside Jordan Spieth and Jon Rahm.
