The only treehouse in Wales that you can get married in

An award-winning collection of bespoke treehouses in Llanbister, Mid Wales, has been granted a wedding licence. Squirrels Nest is the only treehouse venue in Wales where you can get married.

The secluded treehouses, nestled on 130 acres of picturesque farmland in the Radnorshire hills, are perfect for those wanting smaller, intimate weddings. Prices for the venue begin at an affordable £1,300 for 12 guests - a snip when the average UK wedding now costs £20,000.

There are three treehouses on site, which all come with private outdoor hot tubs. The most romantic is Cadwollen, with its dreamy copper bathtub, that sleeps two but can host weddings on the adjoining decking.

There’s also a Trawscwm treehouse, which sleeps four people. It is also licenced to hold civil ceremonies and is the venue’s original and most secluded setting.

Prince Llywelyn, meanwhile, is the biggest treehouse and can sleep up to seven people. If you can’t choose between the three, couples are also permitted to hire out all three.

All the treehouses have spacious areas for private dining and chefs and bespoke catering can be arranged at an extra cost. As well as the ceremony itself, couples’ massage treatments, honeymoon hampers and romantic picnics in the grounds can be booked.

Squirrels Nest owner Laura Lewis said following the news: “We’re proud to be the first treehouse in Wales where people can get married. Squirrels Nest is such a special, secluded venue and is the ideal place if you’re looking for a unique and intimate wedding. It’s literally just you, your guests and the trees – and some pretty spectacular views.”
