The only Bristol area with fewer than three coronavirus cases

Only one neighbourhood in the Bristol and surrounding area recorded fewer than three coronavirus cases in recent days.

A map produced by Public Health England which charts the spread of coronavirus every week shows the areas where there have been fewer than three cases in a seven-day period, with the latest figures covering October 16 to 23.

This latest data set records that Keynsham South is the only neighbourhood in the area to have recorded fewer than three coronavirus cases in that time.

That is an improvement from the previous data set, which recorded all neighbourhoods in the Bristol area had at least three coronavirus cases confirmed

However, earlier in the month nine Bristol areas were marked as having fewer than three coronavirus cases (from October 9 to 16) and 16 Bristol areas were marked as having fewer than two coronavirus cases (from October 6 to 12), reflecting a rise in cases in the area.

The figures also shows 65 neighbourhoods in the area recorded more than 10 covid-19 cases, which means the number of Bristol neighbourhoods to have recorded double figures for positive coronavirus tests has more than tripled since the beginning of the month.

Where is the data coming from?

You can see the latest national data on the government's website.

The map displays weekly data, which are updated everyday.

The data can be viewed by local authority but also by smaller sections called 'Middle Super Output Areas'.

The map highlights which areas of the nation have three or more confirmed cases of the virus and colour co-coordinates the areas by how many cases they have.
