The online shopping hack that will save you money on most websites by doing one thing differently

The practice of buying online fairly well overtook in-person shopping over the last two years during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Now, as restrictions continue to ease, online shopping trends have remained and more and more people are revealing top tricks for saving some money in the process.

One of the main, fool-proof ways of saving some money has been coined by online shoppers as the “abandonment” method.

According to reports, AI technology is used by brands to detect where they lose sales, and what people’s actions are on the site.

With more and more tips being revealed this may be the easiest to avail of.

Moola.com has explained that technology detects when you abandon your basket and will nine times out of ten offer you a discount to attract you back.

If you head over to your favourite online retailer, whether it sells clothes, jewellery, or makeup:

  • pop items in the basket
  • instead of impulse buying, be patient and head away from the site
  • and keep an eye on your inbox

Most brands will then send an abandoned cart email encouraging you to proceed with your purchase, and will include a coupon for 10 to 25% off depending on the brand.

According to the experts at Moola.com, “Not all brands do this – I would say you have about a 50/50 chance of getting a discount email in your inbox after abandoning your cart.

“It could also take a couple of days, so be patient.

“And make sure you get far enough to enter your email address.

“That’s how they know how to find you when shopping online.”
