Rylan was left absolutely mortified on The One Show on Monday night over a prank sprung on him by the show's presenter Matt Baker.
It all stems from the fact that Matt, unbeknown to Rylan, had posed as a radio guest on the former X Factor star's BBC Radio 2 show at the weekend.
The County Durham born TV host rang up the programme and pretended to be an American doctor who could guess what people had eaten in the past few hours just from the sound of your voice.
After asking Rylan to count backwards from 10, 'the expert' told Rylan he knew he'd eaten meat feast pizza as well as correctly revealing what his colleagues in the studio had eaten.
Matt's One Show co-host Alex Jones said she'd listened to the show and been blown away by the doctor's amazing skills and, had been left so impressed that she wanted to get him on the 7pm show.
Rylan looked very excited at the prospect of chatting to the doctor again and didn't click what was actually going on until Matt's phone started to ring.
Matt even put on an American accent as Rylan had to stop himself from swearing, saying: "I nearly lost every job at the BBC just then, I had to cover my mouth!"
"I think you need to apologise to all those listeners who have been messaging me all weekend saying 'this is unbelievable, he should be famous this man' was that you?"
Matt did reveal that there was one major clue that Rylan had missed. Posing as the expert, Matt said his name was Brett Maakiam, which is an anagram of I Am Matt Baker. On hearing this Rylan fumed "Oh leave it out!"
