The One Show's Alex Jones shares back to work update as she's joined by son Teddy

The One Show's Alex Jones has shared a sweet message upon her return to work. The presenter, who hails from Ammanford, confirmed she was taking a break from the BBC One programme last week.

Bidding farewell to viewers at the end of the show on Friday, March 31, Alex confirmed her replacement. The 46-year-old said: "Jermaine (Jenas) and Emma (Willis) will be here on Monday, I'll see you the week after"

During her time off Alex enjoyed a few days away with her husband Charlie Thomson and their three children, Teddy, Kit and one-year-old Annie. Sharing snaps from their Easter getaway to West Wales, Alex wrote: "Lucky enough to have a week with family and friends at our favourite place last week. "The first beach days of the year. The children ran free and we all gulped down gallons of fresh air." You can read more on this here.

However, in a new update, a fresh-faced Alex confirmed she was returning to work with an interview on Virgin Radio to talk all things, Reunion Hotel. Alex's heartwarming new series kicked off on BBC last week and sees loved ones reunited. You can read more on this here.

Sharing a video en route to the studio, Alex told her 346k Instagram followers that her return was made "much nicer" as she was joined by her eldest son.

Addressing the camera, she told her fans: "Morning, hope you've had a lovely Easter. Now then, I'm back at work today, but it's all been made much nicer because I've got company, haven't I Ted?"

She added: "And we're off to Virgin Radio to talk about Reunion Hotel which is on BBC Two and iPlayer." Alex then asked her son: "Whose show are we going on?"

To which Ted could be heard saying in the background: "Chris Evans." Reunion Hotel sees people who are Welsh or connected to Wales head to a hotel in Wrexham to be reunited with people from their past.

The emotional series sees people give thanks to life-saving heroes, enjoy romantic reunions and tearjerking homecomings. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
