The One Show's Alex Jones injures herself saying 'I've got blood everywhere'

Alex Jones brought The One Show to a halt live on air after she suffered an injury.

The 43-year-old TV presenter exclaimed that she had got "blood everywhere" after slicing her finger just before a link took the camera back on her.

What made it worse was that her co-presenter Alex Scott was unable to help her as social distancing rules, due to the coronavirus pandemic, meant she could only sit and watch as Alex asked if there was anything she could use to stem the bleeding.

The BBC evening show started off innocently enough as Alex introduced what was coming up on the show.

It was when Matt Alright was handing back to her after revealing what the Watchdog section had in store for viewers, that he was met with slightly chaotic scenes.

As the camera panned back onto Alex, she was seen holding her hands out in front of her.

She told viewers: "I am so sorry but I have given myself a papercut and I just got blood everywhere."

Alex, who was wearing a pristine white dress, said to the viewers: "I am absolutely fine, it’s just a papercut, but I haven’t got a tissue."

She was offered help by Matt and Alex Scott but they were not able to go near her.

Matt pointed out: "We can't help you."

The TV host had a stroke of luck when she found some tissues placed behind the sofa she was sitting on.

With the situation brought under control and Alex's finger suitably wrapped up, they had a laugh at the unintentional drama the cut had caused.

Before the papercut saga, Alex announced that co-host Alex Scott has been called up by the Government to help the country out of the coronavirus lockdown.

Alex Jones said: “We are so proud of our Alex Scott, because, in the last two hours, we have found out that she will be heading up a new government task force to get the leisure and recreation sector up and running.

“I mean from there straight to the Prime Minister.”

Scott revealed: “Well I don’t know Al, it’s a big responsibility."
