The One Show Alex Jones' real name isn't what you think it is

Alex Jones is a television presenter best known for her role on The One Show. The host, who hails from Ammanford, started her career on S4C before joining the BBC in 2010.

When the 45-year-old isn't presenting from the green sofa she's updating her 339k Instagram followers on her life behind the scenes with husband Charlie Thomson and their three children Kit, Teddy and Annie, who recently turned one.

However, what fans of the popular presenter might not know is that Alex goes by her middle name Alexandra. Her full given name is Charlotte Alexandra Jones.

The mum-of-three explained this when responding to a fan on Twitter back in August 2021. After sharing a gorgeous picture of her newborn daughter at the time, many fans took to social media to speculate what the tiny tot's moniker might be.

The image showed the newborn's tiny feet adorned with hospital bracelets around each ankle. The name Charlotte could be seen on the tag with many guessing that was the baby's name before Alex and Charlie announced it was Annie.

Responding to the picture at the time, one fan wrote: "I can announce it as I can read and the name is Charlotte."

While a second clarified: "Charlotte is Alex's first name - the tag reads 'female of Charlotte Jones'."

And a third commented: "That is not 'Fenella'. It is 'female' but you are right on the Charlotte." Replying, Alex simply confirmed: "Charlotte is my first name. X"

Alex recently delighted fans by returning to The One Show after a break for the summe r. During her time off Alex enjoyed family getaways with her husband Charlie and their three children in both Greece and The Cotswolds.

Alex's return comes after she told her fans that life had "been a bit challenging" in a candid post. In the message shared on July 26, Alex wrote: "Things have been a bit tricky for us recently and in all honesty, I haven’t had time to be on here between working and the children but I randomly logged on and saw all your lovely messages gently asking if we were all ok.

"I was touched by your kindness and so I just wanted to check in and say thank you, and that even though life has been a bit challenging, we are ok and still managing to enjoy the beginning of the holidays and there's still plenty to smile about! (I'll pop some stuff on my stories) #whenlifegivesyoulemons #thekindnessofstrangers." You can read more on this here.
