The one player Spurs fans want to leave most in January and it's not Aurier, Eriksen or Rose

The January transfer window is just around the corner.

And Tottenham fans will be hoping to see the club busy in the market.

It has been a dreadful campaign so far, with Spurs languishing in 14th place in the Premier League table, 11 points adrift of the top four having won just three of their opening 12 matches.

A number of players were linked with an exit during the summer, but stayed in N17, with Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen now in the final year of their contracts at the club.

The chances of Spurs managing to get money for any of those three, when they can leave for free in the summer, is slim, but Tottenham could offload a number of other players not in Mauricio Pochettino's plans.

We asked you, the fans, to have your say on what the club should do in the transfer window, in terms of players that should stay or go.

And, as expected, the wantaway stars from the summer and the contract rebels were among those that supporters wanted to see leave in January.

But there was something of a surprise in which player fans wanted to leave over any other.

Given their performances you might expect it to be Serge Aurier or Christian Eriksen. But it was a player who has hardly had a kick this season - Victory Wanyama.

Just 97 people of 1,568 who voted wanted to keep the Kenyan, meaning 94% of Spurs supporters polled wanted to see him leave this January.

Aurier only received the backing of 8% of Tottenham fans, while just 14% wanted Eriksen to stay with the club.

Seventy-two per cent of people wanted Danny Rose to leave, while opinion was split on Toy Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen, with 55% wanting Alderweireld to leave and 51% wanting Vertonghen to go.

Michel Vorm, only here for a year, to cover for Hugo Lloris' injury, was backed by 48% to stay in January.
