Arsenal have today revealed their squad photo for the 2020-21 campaign, socially distanced and proudly positioned behind the FA Cup trophy and FA Community Shield.
Mikel Arteta's side may be eight games into their Premier League campaign but only in mid-November, with the transfer window behind them and just before the international break, did they get the chance to prepares the cameras and say "cheese."
That photo was published on Tuesday with one big and noticeable omission - and it's not Mesut Ozil.
The German World Cup winner was an expected absentee at the photoshoot after he was not handed a place is Arteta's Premier League squad.
Ozil is still an Arsenal player and can be added back in January should his manager opt to do so.
That surprise omission was, in fact, youngster Emile Smith Rowe, the only one of Arteta's 31 first team players listed on the site not to strike a pose for the picture.
Despite not yet playing a first-team game this season, Rowe is a part of Arsenal's squad this term following his impressive loan spell at Huddersfield Town last season.
And Arteta has, in the past, hailed the Croydon-born 20-year-old making clear his excitement about his talents.
"I think he’s someone who can be pretty impressive," he said back in July.
"I’m pleased by what I’ve seen from him. The young players want to be important, they want to take the important numbers, and I like that.”
But there appears to be a simple explanation for him surprise omission with the squad photo being taken on November 6, the same day Smith Rowe was in Blackburn for Arsenal U23s clash with Rovers.
The exciting Gunners prospect scored twice that day before being replaced after 71 minutes, more than worth missing a photoshoot for, you would say.
