The one big decision Mikel Arteta has to make in naming his Arsenal team to face Tottenham

It is always one of the biggest games in the Premier League calendar.

But this North London Derby feels like it could be something of a damp squib.

For Mikel Arteta it will be his first as Gunners head coach, and in the other dugout Jose Mourinho will be in the same boat.

For Arteta he has decisions to make in his starting lineup, although perhaps there is only one big one to make - in defence.

We asked out Arsenal writers to name the team they would pick if they were in charge, and they came up with similar lineups.

Art de Roche - Arsenal writer

Despite the frustrating draw against Leicester City, Mikel Arteta will be impressed with how Arsenal are playing in his 3-4-3 system.

Shkodran Mustafi, David Luiz and Sead Kolasinac a growing as the three-man defence, with Mustafi the most impressive of the trio.

Right wing-back will be the biggest decision for Arteta but Cedric Soares has proven his value to the side there. Much better suited than Hector Bellerin, the Portuguese should return to the starting XI after being rested midweek.

Kieran Tierney will keep his place at left wing-back.

Dani Ceballos and Granit Xhaka are getting back to their pre-lockdown form and will be pivotal in Arsenal controlling proceedings at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Eddie Nketiah's red card may offer Arteta the perfect opportunity to move Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang into the middle. Alexandre Lacazette won't start all three of Arsenal's next games and with this being the most important [in the league], the chance should be taken.

Nicolas Pepe will return on the right as Bukayo Saka moves out left.

de Roche's XI: Martinez; Mustafi, Luiz, Kolasinac; Cedric, Ceballos, Xhaka, Tierney; Pepe, Aubameyang, Saka.

James Benge - Senior writer

Are we getting to the stage where Arsenal have something like a strongest XI? Certainly there are plenty of players now who you don't even consider before putting their name on the teamsheet.

There are two intriguing selection issues that Arteta will be mulling, first of all who leads the line in Eddie Nketiah's absence?

Alexandre Lacazette will probably get the nod, not least because Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looks more effective wide than through the middle.

And yet if Lacazette starts there is no obvious avenue for fitting Bukayo Saka and Nicolas Pepe into the starting XI. Both are in better form and ought to start.

Hector Bellerin's upswing in form against Leicester adds to the intrigue around right wing-back. Though he hasn't hit the heights Ainsley Maitland-Niles has reached in that position he is improving and may be the safest option available to Arteta.

Benge's XI: Martinez; Mustafi, Luiz, Kolasinac; Bellerin, Ceballos, Xhaka, Tierney; Pepe, Aubameyang, Saka.

Now it's time for you to have your say.
