The one Arsenal player Cesc Fabregas wishes to play alongside right now

Former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has revealed the one player he would like to play alongside at the Emirates Stadium.

The Spain international left the Gunners almost a decade ago to join Barcelona, only to return to the capital when he joined Chelsea in the summer of 2014.

Now Fabregas is seeing out the twilight years of his career in Ligue 1 with AS Monaco.

But he's still keeping a close eye on what happens in English football.

In fact, Fabregas hosted a Q&A via his official Twitter account on Monday afternoon where he covered a range of topics including the best players he has played with during his brilliant career.

Although, with more games behind him than in front of him, he was given the chance to answer an intriguing question.

When asked 'who is one player in the current Arsenal squad you wish you could play with now and why?' Fabregas didn't have to deliberate over more than one player.

"Martinelli" was his response and despite not providing a reason, it's likely this choice will have delighted Arsenal supporters.

It's not the first time in recent hours where the Spaniard has shown he has a great eye for the game as he named the one player he would target if he was in Mikel Arteta's shoes.

Asked which player he would target if he was a manager, Fabregas named a player that Arsenal fans would love to see.

"Cristiano is 35 and Leo is going to turn 33, they are older. For youth, talent, desire and mentality, I would sign Mbappe," he told Spanish radio station Cadena Cope.

"The thought of having him for ten years up front for my team, I would go for him.

"Then there are players like Neymar and [Erling] Haaland, but due to his goal getting and his speed, Mbappé reminds me of Thierry Henry.

"I saw him from in behind and it was a delight when you gave him a long pass into space.”
