The Oleksandr Zinchenko and John Stones celebration that epitomised Man City win over PSG

Manchester City fans went wild on social media after noticing a key moment between Oleksandr Zinchenko and John Stones during their 2-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain.

Pep Guardiola's side secured their place in the UEFA Champions League final with a 2-0 win at the Etihad Stadium thanks to a brace from Riyad Mahrez.

The Algerian winger netted either side of half time to confirm a 4-1 aggregate win and place City within one match of lifting the elusive trophy for the first time in their history.

However, with the match in the balance at 1-0, City fans absolutely loved the work of Oleksandr Zinchenko, who produced a fantastic piece of defending.

The Ukraine left-back tracked Neymar's run and produced a timely last-ditch block to prevent the Brazilian from levelling the score.

Zinchenko then celebrated the block with John Stones as if he's scored a goal and it was a moment that Man City fans were quick to highlight online.

City took the lead after a fantastic pass by Ederson found the marauding City defender, who picked out Kevin de Bruyne, allowing Mahrez to net the rebound from his shot.

Rio Ferdinand claimed Manchester City had "planned" the move, with replays showing the precise timing of Zinchenko's run alongside Ederson's pass.

“I think that’s planned, I think that’s something they’ve worked on," Ferdinand told BT Sport at half-time.

"Before this goal was scored, there’s a clip we’ll show at the end of the game which was almost identical to that.

"Zinchenko really high, Walker slightly deeper and it was on. It was definitely planned before the game.”
