The old Revolution bar in Wind Street now looks completely unrecognisable

A popular former bar which was once visited by thousands of people now looks completely unrecognisable, as a huge project to create an exciting new venture in its place is in full swing.

Construction work is underway at 24 Wind Street in Swansea, the former home of Revolution and Liberate, breathing new life into the old bar with the introduction of Founders & Co, which will bring together an eclectic mix of independent food vendors, makers, sellers, and creators all under one roof, set to open in June. It is one of many big changes currently afoot along the city's party capital, and you can read all about what else is going on there by clicking here.

If you were to walk inside the old bar now you would see ripped up carpets, ladders, drills, hammers, paint pots and other construction equipment laying around, and you'd find it hard to place yourself in context of what you may have remembered about Revolution, which traded at the location for decades before closing in 2019 and becoming Liberate, which was short lived.

Indeed, it is all hands on deck to ensure the exciting new business is ready to open its doors by the end of June. The line-up so far includes a mix of local food vendors made up of Bangin’ Burger, Tokyo Nights, Tukka Tuk, Dusty’s Pizza, The Little Man Coffee Company and Chilled & Tannin.

Founders & Co operations and creative lead, Adam Cousins, said: "Founders & Co is well and truly underway! We're so excited with the progress we're making on the transformation of 24 Wind Street - It's going to be totally unrecognisable! We've been working with The Hass this week and the art he's doing is absolutely incredible. I cannot wait to be able to showcase such a great community space when we throw open our doors for the first time towards the end of June!"

He added: "We've connected with so many brilliant people whilst we've been on the hunt for the best local makers, traders and creators and we've had a phenomenal response to our recruitment adverts. We're really proud to be bringing 30 incredible team members on board over the next week as we begin training ahead of our opening!"
