A historical village situated just outside of Leeds has been chosen in the Sunday Times' pick of the top 50 in the UK.
The list has been compiled of villages from all over the country and released today, with a focus on the places that people have loved visiting and looked to move to during the pandemic.
Five in total are featured from Yorkshire, with two villages from North Yorkshire on the list and one from each of South, West and East Yorkshire as well.

The list, titled 'The 50 Best Villages in the UK', is collated in no particular order and includes a description of why each location was included as well as the nearest station and average house price.
The village representing West Yorkshire is Thorner, which lies towards the north east of Leeds.
There is archaeological evidence of Bronze Age and Anglo-Saxon settlements having been in place in the village and the impressive historical significance is one of the many factors that stood out to those at the Sunday Times.
They wrote: "This properly old-fashioned village may look rural, but it's so close to Leeds that you can almost touch the ring road.
"Happily you can't hear the traffic - or smell it - the aromas are all woodsmoke in winter, freshly mown grass in summer and sheep all year round.
"St Peter's Church looms over the wide main street, once used for markets and now home to a GP and a useful set of amenities including the Fox, a friendly pub with a Monday night quiz, the Post Box deli with its Secret Garden cafe, as well as an Indian restaurant and visiting fish and chip van."

Other amenities highlighted include the cricket and tennis clubs and ThornerCares support group, which was set up to help people during the pandemic.
The nearest train station is Leeds Cross Gates and the average house price is £414,493.
