The Odsonne Edouard throwback that shows Celtic star was always destined for success

When Odsonne Edouard arrived on loan from PSG in 2017 he immediately set the heather alight with a goal on his debut.

It didn't always go perfectly for him in that first season but scoring the winner against Rangers in March 2018 set him on the path to Celtic stardom.

A permanent move followed that summer and since then he's been in sensational form and finished with 28 goals in all competitions for this season after it was cut short.

He is the Premiership's top scorer with 22 in the league and his form has attracted interest from England and abroad.

But it's clear he was always destined for greatness from his younger days with the Bobigny Football Academy in France.

Edouard was on the books of AF Bobigny as a youngster before joining PSG as a 13-year-old.

But the French amateur outfit have shared a throwback image as they congratulated their star pupil on his success with Celtic.

In the image, Edouard is pictured alongside a team-mate and is holding a trophy that looks suspiciously like one which would be handed out to a top goalscorer.

The tweet says: “Congratulations to @oeduard22 (trained at the club) for his title of champion of Scotland.

“He was also voted top scorer in the Championship with 21 goals(sic) in 27 games.

“Congratulations to him again for the superb season. The work continues.”
