The OA Season 2 Netflix trailer has dropped with Brit Marling and Sharon Van Etten and it looks intense

Netflix has finally unveiled a nail-biting first look second season of The OA, two years after the first season arrived.

Season one saw blind character Prairie Johnson (Brit Marling) return home seven years after she first went missing and is now miraculously able to see again.

The second part of the mind-bending show sees her attempt to navigate through a new dimension where she lives as a Russian heiress after being captured by Jason Isaacs' character Hap.

Part II will also introduce new character Karim Washington (Kingsley Ben-Adir), a private detective tasked with finding missing teen Michelle Vu (Chloe Levine).

His path eventually crosses with the OA and the pair team up in a bid to locate the missing teen.

They are also set to investigate a house on Nob Hill connected to the disappearance of several teenagers.

Viewers will also see Phyllis Smith’s character BBA attempt to understand the truth behind the OA’s story, back in the first dimension.

Netflix warned fans of the show to get their “defibrillators ready” amid the new trailer drop.

Excited fans were quick to admitting they have been “waiting for this.”

“Fantastic! I've been waiting for this one,” added another.

Riz Ahmed, Sharon van Etten and Emory Cohen are expected to return to the show as guest stars, whilst Irène Jacob is tipped to make her first guest appearance, according to the Independent.

The OA returns to Netflix on 22 March
