The nutritionist creating recipes based on a picture of your cupboards

Help is at hand for families struggling to create nutritious meals during lockdown.

Children's food company Ella's Kitchen are encouraging people to send photographs of items they have buried away in their cupboards with the intention of turning them into nutritious, bespoke recipes.

Difficulties that include a loss of earnings has resulted in more shoppers cutting back on take-aways, while simultaneously stockpiling tinned and non-perishable items.

A recent survey of parents has discovered that children's diets are now of paramount concern, with over half of those asked admitting that they are struggling to add variety in their meals.

Ella’s Kitchen’s nutritionist, Claire Baseley says: "We can see that parents are struggling to find new ways to cook with what they have at their disposal."

"That’s why we’re continuing to help them come up with new recipes that will grow families’ repertoire of meals."

Elsewhere, Ella's Kitchen have also teamed up with social enterprise Community Shop in their bid to offer support to vulnerable families across the country.

Over the next 12 weeks, and in conjunction with various local councils around the UK, Ella's Kitchen have committed to donating 50,000 products alongside a monetary contribution to support logistics and distribution of food boxes.
