The NUFC Fans' Foodbank - A United Front: The importance of your support to the charity

October saw more than £23,000 raised by Newcastle United fans for the city's West End Foodbank.

Fans came together to protest at the £14.95 fee they had been asked to pay to watch United take on Manchester United - and raised an astonishing amount for the foodbank.

It was an amazing sign of community - and it prompted Andrew Musgrove to spend a morning at the food bank to see how far that money goes, and the impact it has on the charity and those who use it.

In the morning he spent at the foodbank - at the Venerable Bede Church on West Road - 229 people were given food parcels, 92 of which were children.

That number will be shocking to most, and showcases the demand the foodbank is currently serving, and how important your support to the charity is.

All that is covered in the latest documentary from The Everything is Black and White Podcast, The NUFC Fans' Foodbank - A United Front.

Listen from those staffing the charity, those who have donated and more importantly those who use it - from Kate, the single mam from Newcastle who was visiting the foodbank for the first time, to Eric who is struggling to find work due to COVID-19.

This is their story, and the story of how your donations are helping keep a community fed.
