The Notts County duo who stats firm say rank among the National League's best

Jim O'Brien and Richard Brindley are the latest Notts County players to be ranked among the best the National League has to offer according to Instats.

O'Brien is considered one of the best five central midfielders in the division while Brindley earned the same acclaim when it came to  right-backs.

Each player had to play a minimum of 1,000 minutes to be considered and every facet of their game was scrutinised.

And InStat have determined that O'Brien and Brindley are among the standout performers.

Even though O'Brien has missed a large chunk of Notts' season through injury, he has made a telling contribution this season having starred recently in wins over AFC Fylde and league leaders Barrow.

He also scored Notts' first goal in the National League when he scored in the 1-1 draw against Stockport.

Brindley meanwhile has had fine campaign since arriving on a free transfer at the start of the season and scored one of the goals of the campaign when he struck from 30 yards in a victory against Torquay in October.

He has also been a key part of the defence which is currently the second best in the division having conceded just 38 goals this season.

It comes as Connell Rawlinson and Ben Turner were also considered by InStat to be among the best five centre-backs in the National League based on a minimum of 1,000 minutes.
