The Nottingham Forest and Leeds United transfer news that could be brilliant for Bristol City

Nottingham Forest are expected to sign Nuno Da Costa from Stasbourg in the coming hours.

Nottinghamshire Live report that the Reds are close to be completing a deal for the Cape Verdean striker as they look to ease the burden on Lewis Grabban.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Leeds United earlier today completed a deal to sign Jean-Kevin Augustin on loan from RB Leipzig.

Both deals could well be huge boosts to Bristol City.

Forest and Leeds have both been keen to sign a striker this January and have rivalled the Robins in their attempts to secure different targets.

For example, Forest have been linked with Eddie Nketiah, Nahki Wells and Connor Wickham this window - three players that City have also held an interest in.

Part of the reason January can be a quiet window is the sparsity of players actually available to sign - which leads to multiple clubs all chasing the same player.

With activity expected to ramp up in the coming days before the window shuts on Friday, it could well be a boost for the Robins that two of their rivals have secured transfer targets - particularly with City having not held an interest in either player.
