The North Poll - it's not all about Brexit

If you listened to some, you'd think this General Election is all about Brexit and nothing else.

This week’s episode of the North Poll election podcast is out now - and we look at the many non-Brexit issues across the region that need some attention during the campaign.

We are joined by election analyst and pollster Ian Warren, co-founder of the Centre for Towns think-tank, to discuss how things are looking so far in seats across the north and how well the parties’ various strategies are going down on the doorstep.

Jon Walker, political editor of the Newcastle Chronicle and Journal, gives us the perspective from the north east, while Sheffield Star editor Nancy Fielder tells us how the campaign is playing out in south Yorkshire, particularly since the widespread floods that hit a couple of weeks ago.

But our big focus is on all the things that may have been overlooked so far - from bus services to social care, school funding to infrastructure.
