At the height of lockdown, Middlesbrough's Grove Hill estate hit headlines for holding a 300-participant VE Day party with burgers, hotdogs and loo roll bingo
"We got a lot of flack," admits organiser Liam Henry.
"We had 200 to 300 people on the street and they were all doing 'Oops Upside Your Head' and they were all two metres apart but the way they picture was taken it looked like everyone was squashed up."

"Flack" was perhaps an understatement, TeessideLive reports. With around 400 Brits a day dying from Covid in May 2020, the public were largely furious at the pictures which emerged from a party that even had a DJ in Liam's front garden.
Yet around 260 miles away, the Prime Minister himself was allegedly flouting his own rules by attending a 'bring your own bottle' bash at Downing Street - with around 100 invites emailed out.
The latest claims of lockdown rule-breaking have incensed politicians and journalists, who are now queueing up to call for the PM's head.
But many on the Middlesbrough estate say they "couldn't care less" about the alleged rule breaking - and want the PM to stay.
"I think this thing about Boris is just a load of tripe," fumed Liam, a self-confessed swing voter.
"I know (the media) want stories on him, but I say it as it is - Labour, the Lib Dems, the 1922 Committee - they want to mind their own business. We voted in Boris, not them. And they are all just as bad, they just haven't been caught.
"We support Boris 100%. He's done a good job for us."
Teesside Live visited two estates where large gatherings occurred within days of the PM's alleged party during that first national lockdown.

In Grove Hill, the streets were covered with NHS banners as revellers clapped both passing paramedics and the police sent to keep an eye on social distancing.
"We put all the flags up and there was burgers and hotdogs," recalls Liam, who staged the party at a time when Middlesbrough's infection and death rate was among the highest in the country.
In London, the claims which emerged on Monday regarding the Downing Street gathering didn't contain any reports of tinned sausages - although the PM's wife Carrie was reportedly drinking gin.
In Grove Hill, there was some scattered outrage at the latest lockdown bombshell. One young mum called Natalie recalled the pain she felt as mourners were capped at her own mother's funeral.
"And how many times has (the PM) done this? Our party was for VE Day, it was a one off, yet it seems like he was doing it every other weekend - I think he's a hypocrite," she said.
One dog walker, Logan Field, had an even worse take on the PM's antics. He described Boris as a "divvy and a clown".
The latest YouGov polling suggests the public are also growing increasingly sick of the PM.
In Parliament on Tuesday, Labour questioned the PM's integrity while Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon feels UK interests would be "greatly enhanced" if he quit.
Yet in both Grove Hill and Brambles Farm, nobody we spoke with was desperate for fresh upheaval at Number 10.
At the latter, police made arrests and issued warning as around 25 people took to the streets for barbeques and bingo in early May - with the infection rate so bad, the nearby Lidl was shut.
One local shopper, who asked not to be named, admitted that the rules - and life generally in 2020 - was "weird".
"People were so fed-up, and I think they've forgot maybe just how hard lockdown was - that's maybe why they aren't as angry about Boris as maybe they should be," they added.
"And it definitely does feel like one rule for us, and one rule for them. But I feel that we should also now be focussing on trying to solve the problems we have now, and looking to the future, rather than the past."
