The No. 1 Ohio State men’s tennis team blows by Nebraska 6-1

The Ohio State men’s tennis team continues to roll along in Big Ten play, this time taking down the Nebraska Cornhuskers 6-1 in Lincoln to remain unbeaten in the conference.

As it has done almost every match so far this year, the Buckeyes took the doubles point to get things off on the right foot. Teams Martin Joyce and JJ Wolf, along with Hunter Tubert and John McNally both won their matches easily 6-0 and 6-1.

From there, the single matches continued to make this a business trip. JJ Wolf continued his dominance by taking down Nebraska’s Toby Boyer 6-0. 6-1, followed by James Trotters’s 6-1, 6-1 win over the ‘Huskers Alvaro Mareno Lozano to make it 3-0 Buckeyes.

Shortly after, Alex Kobelt clinched things for Ohio State 4-0 with a 6-2, 6-4 victory against Isaac Nortey. The teams decided to play things out with OSU taking two of the final three matches for the final of 6-1.

The Buckeyes improve to 6-0 in Big Ten play and next take travel to Iowa in a quick turnaround Sunday matchup.
