The nightmare scenario facing Mauricio Pochettino & Spurs as new stadium opener is confirmed

Tottenham Hotspur will finally be back in N17 on Wednesday, April 3 with Crystal Palace the visitors to the club's stunning new home.

Only set to spend the one season at Wembley with work underway on the 62,062-seater stadium, a number of delays have meant that the Lilywhites have had to remain at the national stadium for the time being.

However, providing the club receive the relevant safety certificates following the two upcoming test events, Roy Hodgson's team will be the first visitors to the stadium at the start of next month.

It was finally confirmed on Sunday that it would be the Eagles taking part in the opening game following Brighton & Hove Albion's FA Cup quarter-final victory over Millwall.

Defeat for the Seagulls would have meant they would have played Spurs instead of Palace, yet they will now be in semi-final action against Man City on Saturday, April 6.

Next month is set to be manic for the club with eight games potentially on the agenda.

Spurs now face Man City three times in the space of 11 days after drawing them in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, with then the possibility of a European semi-final taking place if they manage to beat City.

The game against Brighton will also now be played in midweek towards the back end of the month, while the team also do have Huddersfield Town and West Ham to come in the league at home.

Here's how Spurs' finish to the season looks at present:
