Head coach Unai Emery is still to see the full firepower of his new-look front three of Alexandre Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but there are signs that a turning point is near.
In his first few appearances for the Gunners, the Ivorian has already given a glimpse as to what he can add to his new club's attack.
So far this season, Arsenal have suffered the most offside calls so far, with 16. Aubameyang is third in the league for faling foul of the linesman five times.
The north Londoners are also mid-table for touches in the box with 65, a figure that places them 10th in the league.
By comparison, Manchester City have made 114 in the opposition's penalty area followed by 96 from Liverpool.
Arsenal need to improve on getting up the table, and make more out their attacks too. Last season, they were 11th in the league for shots taken.
Enter Nicolas Pepe.
The former Lille winger could be the key to not only making Emery's strongest front three work a reality but fixing three of these problems for his new club.
So far this season, the Ivorian has been the only Arsenal player in the top 15 for what are called 'Progressive Runs' in the Premier League.
According to WyScout, that measures a footballer's ability to consistently bring the ball forward up the pitch, with Pepe fourth in the division with 4.7 'Progressive Runs' per 90 minutes.
He is also currently ranked seventh in the Premier League for dribbles per 90 with 8.4, with no Arsenal player in the top 15 again.
While Lacazette leads the line, and Aubameyang roams into space, Pepe could play a vital role in bringing the ball into the final third to run at defenders and undermine the team shape of their opponents.
And when the Gunners do reach the final third, their new signing is already showing he is keen to add to the team's goal threat.
Only Mason Mount and Youri Tielemans have taken more shots from outside the area this season with nine compared to eight from Pepe.
Watford, Eintracht Frankfurt and Aston Villa are lined up next for Arsenal in the Premier League and Europa League.
Pepe's ability to get on the ball and drive forward, or try and effort from range, could be critical in undermining attempts to deploy a low block to frustrate Emery's side.
