The NHS in Wales is launching a massive recruitment campaign for drivers, cleaners, medical staff and call centre workers amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Health boards across Wales are urgently recruiting temporary roles to start immediately in several areas to help cope with operational pressures during the Covid-19 outbreak.
The Cardiff and Vale University Health Board has announced it is looking for staff to fill paid temporary roles in the following areas:
- Housekeeping
- Catering
- Hospital portering
- Health care support workers
- Administration and clerical staff
- Drivers
- Allied health professionals and clinical scientists
- Doctors
- Nurses
- IT professionals

This follows a massive recruitment effort by the UK Government, calling out for retired healthcare workers to rejoin the NHS.
In just 48 hours, 4,000 nurses and 500 doctors across the UK answered the call to return to work, but health secretary Matt Hancock stressed many more are needed.
Betsi Cadwalladr Health Board in north Wales are also recruiting bank staff. The hours of a bank worker are flexible but also can be long term.
A statement released on the healthboard's recruitment Facebook page said: "In light of the current Coronavirus situation, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is experiencing very high demand on services over the coming weeks, which is also putting additional pressure on our teams.
"Whilst the list of opportunities will change over the coming weeks we expect there to be roles across the three acute hospital sites and local community services."
The health board are accepting applications for catering assistants, hospital porters, and domestic assistants.
Hywel Dda Health Board, which covers Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, and Pembrokeshire also launched a recruitment bid on Monday.
They are recruiting registered nurses to work across all three counties, and are also offering bank shifts. To apply for a nursing position click here.
