The NFL is going to bring new meaning to throwbacks in its 100th season

Throwbacks are always cool. Whether teams are wearing their old jersey or people are rocking throwback gear for fashion, there’s something awesome about old jerseys, logos, and insignia. This year, the NFL is celebrating its 100th anniversary. That means we are getting throwbacks we have never seen before.

That’s because the NFL is making sure it has as many of the league’s defunct franchise trademarks as possible. It’s not a small list either. I was going to put the defunct teams here and then actually took a look at the list. It’s rather long.

The fan who gets the Rochester Jeffersons jersey is going to be rocking some gear that no one ever has since probably 1925 when the team disappeared off the face of the earth. Sign me up for a Kenosha Maroons hat the second it hits the market. In fact, the NFL should make sure it markets these hats, shirts, and other gear because they can probably sell a bunch just based on the novelty.

So get your bank account ready. The NFL isn’t making sure it has the trademarks for these old teams because they want to have a good time. This is another creative way to make money, and they can have all of my cash.
