Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly named a surprise preference for who he wants to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United.
The Norwegian was dumped on Sunday less than 24 hours after a 4-1 thumping against Watford left them seventh in the Premier League table.
Ronaldo was signed in the summer and was tipped to inspire a title challenge alongside new additions Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.
But it didn't come to pass with Solskjaer's mismanagement largely blamed for damaging defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City.
Record Sport previously revealed that Zinedine Zidane is warming to the idea of taking the United job and the former Real Madrid boss is likely to be among the frontrunners.
But Sky Sports are reporting that Ronaldo is keen for Spain boss Luis Enrique to take the job.
Enrique won two La Liga titles with Barcelona and briefly interrupted Real Madrid's stranglehold on the Champions League in 2015.
It seems Ronaldo is a big fan of his management and feels he is the man to bring the good times back to Old Trafford.
His influence is likely to be huge as United go in search of their next boss, although there are a number of contenders.
Ajax manager Erik ten Hag would be a popular choice while former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers and PSG's Mauricio Pochettino are in the frame.
Michael Carrick has the job in the meantime and United have confirmed they will look for an interim manager while the hunt for a new permanent boss goes on.
