The next contract news Chelsea fans can expect after Olivier Giroud and Willy Caballero deals

On Wednesday afternoon, Chelsea confirmed new contract extensions for Olivier Giroud and Willy Caballero.

Both players are now tied up at the Blues until the end of the 2020/21 campaign, with the duo receiving one-year deals from the club.

That now gives the Blues more options going into the summer and into the next campaign, if the 2019/20 season ever gets completed.

Frank Lampard will be hoping to spend some money over the course of the transfer window, if the financial implications allow.

However, which other Chelsea players could be in line for a new contract at the Blues?

Tammy Abraham

After the Giroud and Caballero deals, Marina Granovskaia would be looking to tie down Tammy Abraham to a new long-term deal.

The striker has proven this season that he should be given the number nine role for the future, however his contract runs out in 2022.

It will be on the agenda for the Blues to sort it out and to get the deal over the line, like they have done with several of the other younger players.

Tino Anjorin

The Blues have already agreed a new deal for the 18-year-old, the player who Chelsea see as a big part of the future.

The young attacking midfielder has already made his first roads into the first team, playing in the League Cup and making his Premier League debut against Everton.

A new deal and expected loan for the youngster is the likely course of action, and they will be hoping to keep him fit after some injury issues.

Willian

This is the one contract situation which has been on the cards for several months, but it appears negotiations appear to be stalling.

With the players now back in training ahead of a potential mid-June start, there is the possibility that contract talks could continue.

However, there needs to be some give and take if there is going to be a breakthrough, with the length of the deal being the issue.

Chelsea will have to give him three years, or the Brazilian will have to drop to two years if both parties are going to come to an agreement.

Pedro

The Spaniard appears to be the one player who is a long way off from getting a new deal, despite the fact his contract is up at the end of the season.

The 32-year-old stated that when the players returned from the break, then he would be approaching the club over his future.

However, with Hakim Ziyech joining ahead of next season and the Blues trying to pin Willian to a new contract, his time with the club could be coming to an end.
