The Newcastle United fan who has over 54,000 reasons to really dislike Jamie Carragher

He already didn't rate him as a pundit.

Now Scott Forsyth has another 54,000 other reasons to dislike Jamie Carragher.

In what must be one of the weirdest stories you'll read this week, 37-year-old Scott has been left raging with the ex- Liverpool defender after he tweeted a random mobile number on Sunday.

Unfortunately, that number turned out to be Scott's.

Scott Forsyth isn't happy with Jamie Carragher after the ex-Liverpool star tweeted his mobile number and he's had 54,000 WhatsApp messages (Evening Chronicle)

"At 5.18pm he tweeted it - since 5.19pm my phone hasn't stopped once," Scott said, with his phone even beeping during his chat with ChronicleLive.

"I did two interviews with the BBC today about it, and had about 40 calls alone during those."

Since Carragher's tweet - designed to mock his Sky Sports colleague Gary Neville - Scott has received 54,000 WhatsApp messages.

It is causing him no end of misery.

"My phone battery usually lasts me a day and a half - yesterday, I had to charge it three times," laughed the Wylam man.

Claiming he was in Turkey, Carragher asked fans to send him a clip of Neville missing a sitter in a charity clash on Sunday against a Bayern Munich side.

But the number he claimed was his - that he seemingly plucked from thin air - was Scott's.

"My lass says you probably have a better chance of winning the lottery than picking a number at random," said Scott.

But when it comes to Carragher, that smile vanishes.

And it wasn't just the 54,000 WhatsApp messages which drove him to that opinion.

"I stopped watching Monday Night Football when he became a pundit, as you couldn't understand a word he said," claimed Scott.

"And he really went down in my estimation after he spat on that child [Carragher was suspended by Sky after footage showed him spitting towards a car as the girl filmed him].

Now, Scott wants an apology from the former England international, which he claims he's yet to receive.

Despite being active on Twitter since the tweet, he claims Carragher is yet to get in touch.

And he wants a sorry, not only for the annoyance but also because some of the messages he's received have been, well, pretty vile.

He's has received flak from United fans who think he's Carragher - and the same from Liverpool fans who think he's Neville.

"I've even had messages from Liverpool fans asking for Champions League final tickets, and people asking me to play for their football team!"

So for now, Scott's making most out of a bad situation (for his phone battery at least) - and also holding out for an apology.

And at least he's starting to see the funny side, changing his Twitter bio to state: "Don't phone me, I'm not Carragher, or Neville.

"I can't get you tickets for the CL final."

And he fufilled every kid's dream - by getting a mention on Match of the Day.

ChronicleLive, like other media outlets, attempted to contact Carragher for comment.
