Bernardo's Portugal take on France in their tournament opener.
The match will be one of the first in which a new UEFA rule will come into play.
Indeed, European football's governing body will only allow goalkeepers to hold the ball for a maximum of eight seconds, or else a corner will be awarded to the opposing team.
The law, which will be rolled out across UEFA's competitions in the 2025/26 campaign, will initially be enforced at the under-21 Euros.
It states: "The eight-second count begins when the goalkeeper has full control of the ball and is not being challenged by an opposing player.
"The referee will visibly count down the final five seconds, ensuring the goalkeeper can see the countdown.
"If opponents begin to pressure or obstruct the goalkeeper during the countdown, the referee will stop the count and award an indirect free kick in favour of the goalkeeper."
The under-21 Euros are being held in Slovakia.
The final will take place on Saturday, June 28, in Bratislava.
Bernardo and Portugal will have realistic ambitions of being there.
