The new Northern Quarter landmark aiming to be the next Beetham Tower

The stunning interior of a £154m Northern Quarter tower block has been revealed for the first time.

New CGIs have been published of the One Port Street development which will stand at 33 storeys and feature 477 apartments.

Bosses behind the scheme say they hope it can become as famous and synonymous with Manchester as the iconic Beetham Tower. The glamorous apartments block will feature a private swimming pool, spa pool and gym, as well as a rooftop terrace.

The scheme is being led by Select Property Group, which bought the site from Town Centre Securities for £12.95m in December. The group was granted planning permission for the development by Manchester City Council after the proposals were twice rejected. Construction is now expected to start in the coming weeks.

Adam Price, CEO of Select Property, said: "Launching One Port Street – and our Prestige Collection – marks the culmination of decades’ of experience across the UK’s residential market, creating compelling places to live. One Port Street harnesses that knowledge to create the ultimate residential offer, and there is no better city to do it than Manchester.

"Once complete, the site will not only deliver for its residents, but it will bring greater value for the wider city too, creating an inviting neighbourhood with more green, public spaces and incorporating sustainability measures that will have a lasting positive impact on Manchester and its people for years to come."

Ian Simpson, partner at architecture firm SimpsonHaugh, added: "One Port Street will become as synonymous with the Northern Quarter as Beetham Tower has become for Deansgate.

"Celebrating its neighbourhood in full, the building has been designed to fuse modern luxury living and all the trappings that brings such as a stunning pool with urban contemporary loft-apartments that Manchester, Brooklyn, and Shoreditch are famous for. Once finished, it will be the ultimate place for professionals to live."

The building is expected to feature a 'grand reception area' that will be 'reminiscent of a hotel', centred around a 360° firepit with concierge service.

There will also be a 2,000 sq ft leisure suite featuring a private swimming pool and spa pool, a gym and separate fitness studio. There will also be a ground floor urban garden with covered seating and a rooftop garden terrace.

Residents will also have access to Paganini’s, a seventh floor club lounge with terrace and dry bar available for hire, co-working spaces with private booths, private dining areas available for hire and a premium 'grab & go' food and beverage outlet on the ground floor.

Mr Price added: "To date, we have sold over £2.6bn worth of property across multiple brands to our global investors, but One Port Street is our most exciting one yet – situated in the iconic Northern Quarter of the city, it is a bespoke property offering a five-star living experience.

"As a first-of-its kind destination, One Port Street will quickly become an in-demand postcode in the city and provide a vibrant new residential neighbourhood."

Renaker is the main construction partner on the development.
