The new Manchester Arndale stores and restaurants that opened this year

For decades, Manchester Arndale has been the go-to shopping centre for many Mancunians.

A must-visit for tourists as well - the site attracts more than 40 million people every year.

And since its first opening in 1975 it has undergone several big changes and welcomed hundreds of new brands under its roof.

The centre - owned jointly by M&G Real Estate and intu - currently boasts more than 200 shops and restaurants including both international and local brands.

And just this year alone, 16 retailers opened new stores at the premises and nine current occupiers have expanded.

Leading American cosmetics brand Morphe and Japanese casual wear retailer Uniqlo are just two of the new editions you will find inside.

And to round off the year, the Arndale recently saw the launch of new bank Metro Bank .

We've compiled a list of Manchester Arndale's store updates and new stores of 2019.

All Saints

This year, All Saints opened its new architectural concept store.

Archie's

The food and beverage offer has been boosted by the arrival of popular burger and shake restaurant, Archie’s to Halle Place.

Footasylum

Footasylum reopened in the centre following an extension and full refit.

Footlocker

Foot Locker signed for larger units in the centre, setting up the brand's flagship store.

Kiosk Coffee Bar

Kiosk Coffee Bar opened at Halle Place.

Metro Bank

Metro Bank is the latest store to open in Manchester Arndale.

The opening marks the first of 29 new sites in the north.

Morphe

American make-up brand Morphe opened this year (Manchester Arndale)

American beauty brand, Morphe - which has more than 10 million followers on Instagram - recently opened its first store in Manchester, taking a 4,500 sq ft unit.

It is the brand’s sixth store in the UK.

Rituals

Home and body cosmetics brand Rituals moved into the centre, taking a total of 3,000 sq ft.

Specsavers

Specsavers signed for larger units in the centre setting up the brand's flagship store.

Uniqlo

In April, Uniqlo opened its flagship store for the North at Manchester Arndale, occupying a completely redesigned 21,000 sq ft. unit.

Colin Flinn, regional managing director at intu said on behalf of the joint owners: “Manchester Arndale has welcomed a host of national, international and local brands in 2019.

"We have provided larger spaces for various existing occupiers, and right-sized spaces for others, with a host of those we’ve welcomed either new to the market, or the north of the UK.”
