The new football boots Eden Hazard, Cristiano Ronaldo and others may wear have got fans talking

It seems that the normally discordant world of 'football Twitter' has finally found something they can all agree on.

A new pair of Nike football boots are getting rave reviews from all quarters of the social media site - with the only one sticking point, perhaps unexpectedly, being over their eye-watering price.

The boots are a mix of a traditional, old-school classic design with a ever-so-slight and subtle touch of modernity. So smart are they, in fact, that one twitter user - @WassellSam - even joked that you could wear them to your next job interview!

'Flyknits' are specifically designed to be light-weight and are therefore recommended to players modelling their game on speed and agility.

According to the Football Boots database, Nike Mercurials are by far and away the most popular brand of football boot currently worn among the stars of the Premier League, and beyond, today.

Neymar, Eden Hazard, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe are among just some of the world's top talents you can expect to see sporting Mercurials when the football action starts back up again.

With this in mind - and certainly if the online consumer feedback is to be believed - it's hard to see these not flying off the shelves. But those among you who are wanting to get your hands on a pair can expect to do so at a fairly hefty cost.

The website Futbole Motion currently appears to the only retailer who are stocking the boots. They have them listed on their website for £219.31.
