The new car rental system at Bristol Airport explained

A new car rental centre costing £6.5 million has opened at Bristol Airport.

The facility, opened today (December 11), will be home to every rental company based at the airport.

The airport's head of commercial development Kate Ridgers said: "We know car rental is one product that provides customers with a ‘first and last’ impression of the airport, and we wanted to create the highest standards and facilities possible."

The centre, located south of the airport and near the silver zone car park, was constructed using thousands of tonnes of reused rock.

The facility boasts a large office and reception area, dedicated pick-up and return spaces and valet and wash-bay provision.

A shuttle bus service will run between the centre and the airport every 10 minutes for 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Ms Ridgers said: "It is exciting to see this multi-million pound project open to customers for the first time.

"The new car rental centre provides a first-class experience for customers by using the latest technology and sustainability initiatives from design stage through to completion.

"We know car rental is one product that provides customers with a ‘first and last’ impression of the Airport, and we wanted to create the highest standards and facilities possible."
