The new businesses that have opened in Newport in 2020 you need to check out

pFor businesses, itapos;s been a year like no other./p p With months of closures and lost revenue, the business community in a href=https://www.walesonline.co.uk/all-about/newport rel=Follow target=_blank data-link-tracking=InArticle|Link data-content-type=section-topicNewport/a has been hit as hard as any other in the UK. /p p But despite the ongoing a href=https://www.walesonline.co.uk/all-about/coronavirus rel=Follow target=_blank data-link-tracking=InArticle|Link data-content-type=section-topiccoronavirus/a pandemic, weapos;ve seen a number of new businesses open their doors for the very first time. /p pFrom vegan cafes to American sweets and the cityapos;s first zero waste shop, thereapos;s been plenty to celebrate amongst the gloom./p pHereapos;s a list of some of the new businesses weapos;ve seen pop up in Newport this year./p h41. Bossmanapos;s Sweets and Treats/h4 pUp until recently, Bossmanapos;s Sweets and Treats was selling its range of American and foreign drinks, snacks and sweets from JJapos;s Convenience Store on Caerleon Road./p pBut this month the shop took the next step and opened its own standalone store just down the road last week, meaning you have an even bigger choice whether itapos;s Takis Fuego, Jolly Ranchers or Pop Tart Bites youapos;re after./p p The shop ships all over the UK and you can also order for collection. In a strange way the pandemic was a blessing in disguise for me. Iapos;ve had to kind of put in a chunk of money I donapos;t really have, but I think itapos;s worth it./p pquot;Newport is such a vibrant city for the arts, and people donapos;t see that enough./p pquot;Our industry is crumbling around us, and weapos;ve got to hang on to whatever weapos;ve got at the moment.quot;/p h46. Tin Can Kitchen/h4 pTin Can Kitchen launched back in May just after the pandemic hit Wales. The original idea was a street food food court, dominated by shipping container kitchens serving world cuisine. However, the restrictions meant that the owners had to pivot, instead launching it as a food delivery service./p pBased on the popularity of Tin Can Kitchen, a second shipping container kitchen, Al Forno, specialising in authentic stone baked pizza, launched in late November.
