Nike's new special edition Air Force 1s dropped overnight, and as expected sold out within hours. The sneakers have been created in collaboration with designer jewellery brand Tiffany and Co. and feature the iconic Tiffany blue.
Back in January, the sneaker world was sent into a frenzy after it was revealed that the two companies were working together and planned to release a black suede low-top Air Force 1 with a Tiffany blue leather swoosh.
The collaboration was announced on Tiffany’s social media accounts with a photo of a blue shoe box with a Nike swoosh, accompanied with the words: “A legendary pair.”
Known as the Nike/Tiffany Air Force 1 1837, only 1837 pairs of the shoes have been made as a tribute to the year Tiffany was founded and they were officially released on Wednesday (March 7).
The shoes were already pretty expensive, selling for £359.59 on the official Nike website and app. However, like most hotly anticipated drops, they have already been sold out.
Many fans have already expressing their frustrations at missing out on the coveted shoes with many pointing at lightning quick bots and resellers beating them to the post.
The resale price of the shoes have already skyrocketed to eye watering prices. Popular UK based sneaker retailer Sole Supplier helps consumers track release and price information has listed the trainers for as much as £1,666 from resellers.
The cheapest option for sneaker heads so far is to buy the trainers from US resell site StockX but even that will put you back a wallet busting £1,338.50, not to mention the international shipping fee.
Along with the trainers, a number of silver accessories will be sold separately to commemorate the release. The accessories include a co-branded shoe horn, whistle, a shoe brush, and lace dubrae.
