Meghan Markle and her husband Harry recently lost their Netflix contract worth $100 million. This will no doubt come as a blow to the couple as that was a huge source of income, but the good news is that Meghan may well be able to make a healthy earning through her lifestyle brand “As Ever.”
The audience data for Meghan’s online shop was analyzed and according to Newsweek, there is a strong potential for the Duchess of Sussex to make millions every week. However, it’s not as easy as it sounds as Meghan may not quite have the capacity to meet the high demand for her products at her business’s current stage.
Meghan Markle needs to capitalize on the high demand
Newsweek reports that the audience data for the As Ever online shop suggests that the Duchess could have made roughly $4.5 million in a week. The website apparently saw half a million page views during the week that it launched. On top of that all the products that have appeared on the site so far have sold out at lightning speed. This has led to Meghan actually struggling to get orders delivered.
All of this suggests that Meghan could have made a killing. There seems to have been a high demand for her products and had she been able to supply that massive demand she could have made a tidy profit. But therein lies the problem, so far Meghan has only put a limited number of goods up on the shop so even though it is selling out she’s not able to capitalize on the apparent massive demand for her goods.
Judging by her first week she could be potentially earning more than $4 million a week which would more than cover the lost revenue from the failed Netflix deal which was worth $100 million.
Then again, As Ever might not quite be that profitable
Of course, this is being incredibly optimistic, not all of those half-a-million page views would have equated to purchases. But then again, those who did purchase may have bought more than one item and considering how pricey the items in Meghan’s shop are, that would quickly add up. But would As Ever see repeat customers? Or would it be more of a one-off purchase?
The truth is there’s a lot to consider which is one of the many reasons why running your own business can be incredibly stressful. However, considering the Sussexes seem to have fallen out of favor with much of Hollywood and their Netflix dreams are toast, maybe leaning into the As Ever brand and ramping up production might be the way to go.
