The Nationals clinched a trip to the World Series and everyone had Bryce Harper jokes

The Washington Nationals punched their first-ever ticket to the World Series Tuesday night when they completed their sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals with a 7-4 win in Game 4.

What an incredible year it has been a for a team that started off so poorly with a 19-31 record in the early goings, then won a wild-card game to face the NL-best Dodgers, and then rallied to beat those Dodgers in a wild fifth game.

And now – a trip to the gosh darn World Series.

Oh, and this all comes after Bryce Harper left town in the offseason to join the Phillies for a monster free-agent deal in which he mistakenly said he couldn’t wait to “bring a title back to DC” at his introductory press conference.

Now his former team is just four wins away from doing just that, which has to be wild for Harper to see.
