The naked cyclist who brought lockdown joy on his 70th birthday

It can be hard to find something to smile about during these testing times - but we think we may have just spotted something which will make you chuckle.

Residents of Somerset village Frome were treated to quite the sight when a naked cyclist was spotted in the town.

Nicky Birchall snapped the cyclist, who was reportedly taking a bit of birthday exercise on Tuesday morning (April 14).

Somerset Live reports the man in the picture, which was sent to Spotted About Frome xx, is well-known in the area with some identifying him as Dave who was celebrating his 70th birthday.

"I was getting a coffee early in the morning for my drive to work; they rode past me and I think it was 7.45am and only 1C, so it certainly made me chuckle," said Nicky.

She had to be quick to take a picture but managed to capture the cyclists from the rear as he passed on Locks Hill.

Nicky added: "They didn't have a care in the world and no. It made my day in the present circumstances."

The UK has been in lockdown since March 24 when strict new curbs on life were announced by Boris Johnson.

The current measures and social distancing rules mean people can only leave their homes for exercise once a day and to buy essential food or medical supplies.

The Government is legally bound to review the measures today (April 16) and the lockdown is likely to be extended for a further three weeks until May 7.
