Is this the moment George Bush had his watch lifted?
The video - Albanian news footage posted on YouTube - shows the US president wearing a watch on his left arm as he meets adoring crowds in Fushe Kruja. He reaches out with both arms to greet the crowds, pressing his hands to theirs, at around 56 seconds a hand wraps itself around the presidential arm and the watch is gone.
The video has had more than 30,000 views at the time of writing. The comments veer towards the conclusion that it was taken.
For its part, the US embassy in Albania denies the watch was stolen. The next question is if they can produce the watch, and settle the mystery once and for all.
Update: Thanks to Liri in the comments and the YouTube search engine here and here are some alternate videos from the walkabout, which are claimed to show Mr Bush taking off the watch and putting it in his pocket.
