Disney Dreamlight Valley's Skull Cave missions have been challenging, and the "The Music's on the Walls" quest is no exception. You're immediately met with a musical puzzle requiring you to go on a scavenger hunt for glowing notes and buried treasure.

Find the Glowing Musical Note
After following The Forgotten through the second gate into the music puzzle room, turning around will reveal a glowing musical note floating in the air. It'll drop a memory after you follow and collect it, showing an image of Peter Pan flying around while surrounded by more notes.
Unlock the Captain's Chest
With this memory on hand, your next task is to find and unlock the captain's chest. If you haven't yet, return to The Forgotten and pick up the silver key on the floor near them and Peter Pan's shadow before entering the pirate ship's quarters. Here, you'll spot a chest containing a treasure map. Let's tell the Forgotten about it.
Buried Pirate Treasure location

After speaking to The Forgotten about the pirate map, you'll both decide to split up to find additional musical notes and the treasure. Locating the buried treasure requires leaving Skull Rock by using the rope on the ship's side and boarding the raft on the Orb Pillar Island in Dazzle Beach. Riding this raft brings you to another island, where you'll find a buried treasure spot.
All Glowing Musical Note locations
A tricky part of this quest is locating five glowing musical notes. You found the first one while completing the objectives above, but there are still four more to find. Here's a complete list of every musical note location, including the first one you encounter:
- Near The Forgotten, after discovering the music note puzzle.
- Inside Ursula's Cave in Dazzle Beach.
- Inside Olaf's Cave in Frosted Heights.
- Inside the treehouse within the Forgotten Lands.
- Inside Dream Castle's foyer.

While the first music note was within Skull Rock, the other four require venturing back out into Dreamlight Valley, exploring caves, and chasing after each note. Once you have all five and the buried treasure, return to Skull Rock to complete a musical puzzle.
Play the complete music score
Now that you've gather every glowing music note, it's time to summon Peter Pan once and for all. To do this, we need to talk to The Forgotten, arrange everything on a musical sheet alongside a Pan Flute you collected earlier in the mission, and play a complete score.

This task bears a strong resemblance to A Rift in Time's music note arrangement quest. Like this task, you'll need to adjust the six music notes on the left and right sides of the room to match what's on the sheet in the center of the room. You can do this by activating the six barrels in front of each wall. Press these buttons until each note is resting atop the lines shown on this sheet to progress the quest.
Redo the music walls
Once you finish both walls and activate the Pan Flute, you'll quickly realize Peter Pan's shadow can move the notes around. This sequence of events will lead to you redoing the music notes and, more importantly, making another Pixie Dust lantern to trap him a second time.
Don't bother redoing the music note walls first. Peter Pan will continue flying around and moving them, so your best bet is to craft the Pixie Dust lantern from previous quests and place it on the rope winch near the left wall. That way, you can activate both winches to trap Peter Pan, allowing you to rearrange the notes again.
Playing hide-and-seek with Peter Pan
Once you redo the musical walls, Peter Pan's true form will appear in front of you. However, the conversation isn't all fun and rainbows, as he'll remark that you're now a grown adult. Disinterested, he'll almost fly away before you offer to participate in a hide-and-seek match.
When you're ready to find Peter Pan, head out of Skull Rock and start searching. You have three options: look around your village until you see him, ask for help from other villagers, or follow his Pixie Dust trail until you spot him. Using his initial trail will bring you outside of Skull Rock, with the rest leading directly to his hiding spot.

If you decide to talk to other villagers, you'll pick up clues that he flew toward the Plaza, enjoyed hiding in dark castles, and used a portal to reach his favorite hiding spot. Combining this information with his Pixie Dust trail will bring you to the Dark Castle's portal near the Plaza's Wishing Well. Enter this portal and follow the dust trails until you spot Peter Pan.
Inviting Peter Pan to your Dreamlight Valley village
Now that you've won Peter Pan's hide-and-seek match, he'll be ready to officially join your village as a permanent resident. Head back into Dreamlight Valley, place his house anywhere you wish, and pay Scrooge's 20,000 Star Coin fee to welcome Peter Pan into your village. One last conversation with him and The Forgotten will wrap up the "The Music's on the Walls" quest and conclude this portion of Skull Rock's storyline.
