Former Coronation Street star Victoria Ekanoye is urging people to take part in a 'boobalicious' challenge to help fight breast cancer.
Victoria, who played Angie Appleton in Corrie, and her mum Candy are patrons of Prevent Breast Cancer.
The actress is now challenging people to put 'pennies in the pot and boobs in the oven' to raise vital funds for the charity by taking part in a Boobie Bake-A-Thon.
Participants are being asked to get creative and bake boob cakes, or cookies, muffins, macaroons of any shape, size or colour.
Bury-born Victoria and her mother are Prevent Breast Cancer patrons after Candy was diagnosed with the disease in 2003 when she was 41, and several other family members battled other forms of cancer.
Six months after Candy’s diagnosis her sister was also diagnosed with the disease and, three months later, another sister was found to have cervical cancer.
Tragically, she passed away in 2007.
Then, in 2017, Candy’s aunt and mother were both diagnosed with lung cancer and both sadly died of the disease.
Together Victoria and Candy work alongside Prevent Breast Cancer to raise awareness of how families are affected by the disease and to encourage younger women, and men, to check themselves regularly for lumps or any other unusual symptoms.
Providing inspiration for the contest which runs until next Wednesday, June 24, Victoria shared a photo of herself with her own Ferrero Rocher boob cake on Instagram.
And she explained: "Hello all! For those of you that don’t know, mum and I are patrons of @preventbreastcancer and we are simply in awe of the incredible work they do in the fight to predict and prevent breast cancer.
"With everything that’s going on in the world right now, charity funding is critically low and to be honest, so is morale.
"Soooo, as a team, we’ve gotten super creative and are challenging the nation to put smiles on faces, pennies in the pot and boobs in the oven!
"We invite you to take part in the ultimate Boobie Bake-A-Thon!
"They can be cakes, cookies, muffins, macaroons, whatever you like! Any shape, size or colour; you can even throw a nipple ring on there if it takes your fancy!"
She added: "The cakes will be judged on aesthetics rather than taste, so as long as it's boobalicious, it's in with a chance to win!"
For bonus points, people are invited to name their masterpiece.
Participants are asked to match the cost of their ingredients with a donation to Prevent Breast Cancer before sharing pictures of their culinary creations via the Facebook page and #bakeaboob2020 hashtag.
Victoria will work with Prevent Breast Cancer's judges to whittle the contestants down to four finalists.
The chosen four will then be asked to submit an at-home video of themselves on why they think their cakes should win, as well as share their personal experiences with breast cancer or the charity.
These will then be subject to a public vote via Facebook, halving the finalists down to two on Thursday July 2.
The remaining two contestants with the most votes, in the running to win a £50 Lakeland voucher to kit out their kitchen, will then go through to the final knockout stage, where Victoria will crown the winner via a live event hosted on the Prevent Breast Cancer Facebook page on Friday July 3.
Explaining that she had 'got a little creative with the wrapper' and 'the nipple is the hazelnut ', Victoria said: "I can not wait to see all your weird and wonderful creations!! "I’m no Delia Smith, but for a little inspo, here’s a pic of my Ferrero Rocher Boob cake!"
In October Victoria and Candy, who is now in the all-clear from cancer, were also involved with the charity’s BreastFest campaign, a month-long campaign aiming to make Manchester the most breast aware city in the UK.
Victoria played Angie in Coronation Street before leaving the cobbles in 2019.
She has also starred alongside Liz Hurley in The Royals, she appeared in The Lion King on the West End and last year Victoria was a contestant on Celebrity X Factor.
