As Covid continues to ruin holiday plans for millions, this Valentine’s Day, forget jetting off to Paris or New York, instead soak up the loved up atmosphere here in the UK. From Diamond Street to Love Lane, there are more than 700 romantically named roads across the UK.

But which is the most loved-up street and how much will you have to pay to live on a romantic road?

Using data from Rightmove, regulated property buyers, GoodMove have analysed street names with the most love in their lanes, ranking them by the average prices of houses sold in the past. Here are the top 10:

  • Love Avenue, Cramlington, Northumberland (£101,000)
  • Valentines Road, Atherton, Manchester (£184,000)
  • Love Drive, Bellshill, Lanarkshire (£194,000)
  • Kissing Tree Lane, Alveston, Stratford-Upon-Avon (£228,000)

There are a few Love Avenues in the UK, but average house prices sold on Love Avenue in Dudley, Cramlington, Northumberland comes in at a heart-pleasing £101,000.

Manchester’s Valentine’s Road comes second, with houses sold there for an average of £184,000. But with the average property sold in the area standing at £159,461, one can safely say that people are willing to pay a premium to live on a road so appealingly named.

What’s more, houses sold on Love Drive in Bellshill, Lanarkshire average at £194,000 – but the average property price in the area is £118,629. On the other end, properties sold on Elephant and Castle’s Date Street have an average cost of £608,000, but average property prices in the area stand at £557,554! That’s a 9% difference people are paying to call Date Street their home.

Worcester’s Lovington Lane may sound like something from a fairytale, but average property prices sold here average at £675,000. That’s nearly double the price of the average property in Lower Broadheath, which stand at £386,057.

Commenting on the research, Nima Ghasri, Director at GoodMove says: “There’s a common theme with these romantic street names costing more than properties in the area. Factors such as buyer behaviour and house price inflation come into play too, but overall, it’s interesting to see the money it could set buyers back to live on one of these love-filled streets!”
