There is nothing quite like spinning some Christmas music on shuffle when putting the tree up, or just to get into the festive spirit.
There are many classic tunes to choose from, like Fairytale of New York, to Do They Know It's Christmas? But one that sticks out is All I Want for Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey.
However, it seems that there are some songs more popular than others - and no it's not Mariah Carey who is at the top. Spotify's most popular Christmas song list comes as the UK's favourite Christmas movies were also revealed with some classics including Love Actually and Elf at the helm.

The team at Slingo have looked at the Christmas songs that were most frequently featured on Spotify playlists in order to establish which are the most popular Christmas songs on Spotify.
At the top of the list is 'Christmas Three' by V followed by 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' by Mariah Carey. This is then shorty followed by It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas' by Michael Bublé'.

Much to everybody's surprise, the song at the top of Santa's list is Christmas Tree by V. BTS vocalist V has taken the world by surprise with his festive song, which has shot to the top of many jolly playlists.
The song was so popular on Spotify that it featured in an impressive 2,172 playlists.

All I Want for Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey - 1,522 playlists
Now this is the song we all expected to be at the top of the list - but it still holds a substantial place on this festive list. Mariah Carey's tune appeared on over 1,500 Spotify playlists.
It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas by Michael Buble - 916 playlists
This epic Christmas classic takes third place, featuring in over 900 playlists. Though first written in 1951 by Meredith Wilson, it seems like Michael Bublé’s modern spin on the popular tune has become a seasonal favourite for almost 1,000 Spotify subscribers.
The Top ten highest earning Christmas songs
First up is Slade's Merry Xmas Everybody, garnering £1,000,000 royalties. Second place goes to Fairytale of New York by The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl, with £400,000 worth of royalties.
In third place is that woman again, Mariah Carey with All I Want for Christmas Is You - also with £400,000 royalties. Then in fourth is White Christmas by Bing Crosby, with £328,000 royalties.

- Wonderful Christmastime by Paul McCartney - £260,000 royalties
